Traveling
She watched me for a moment longer.
"I am going to close your eyes for you now," she said. "This will feel weird, but if I do not, they will dry and take damage." And then her hand, her dry hand, was on my lids, pulling them closed. I couldn't see, and that was even more frightening.
"Please calm down, Wanda," she whispered to me. "I will not hurt you. No one is going to hurt you. Please believe me. If I wanted to hurt you, I wouldn't be so careful. I know you are frightened and probably very angry, and I understand, but I won't hurt you."
Then she shifted off of me.
"I am going to wash now," she said. "And I will wash you, too, then I will dress you. I will be back very soon."
I listened as she stepped into my bathroom. I lay there, completely motionless except for my heart and my lungs, but inside I was screaming. I was screaming in fear and rage, but not a single sound came from my throat.
I heard the water run, and she was gone for a while, then she was back.
"I am going to wash you, Wanda," she said. She washed first my mouth, and then I felt her hands between my legs, and I wanted to scream at her, "no", but of course, I couldn't. She used a damp cloth to clean me where I was wet, and then she dried me. She was very tender.
She was very tender for such a deceitful bitch. I had been so taken in. I hated her. I hated myself for being so completely fooled.
I truly thought she cared about me. Was it that hard to believe? I was beautiful; everyone was beautiful. But I was also intelligent, powerful, and rich. And I had treated her with kindness and respect. Was it unreasonable to have believed she cared for me?
"There," she said. "That will be more comfortable for you." Then I heard the sounds of her dressing, pulling her discarded clothing into place. It took her several moments, then she was on the bed next to me again. She caressed my face, and I hated her touch, but I would have leaned into it if I could.
"I am going to tell you everything. Maybe someday you will forgive me, but you must know it all. I have not lied to you. I truly care about you, Wanda. I have not faked my feelings. But I drugged you tonight. The drug on my breasts is called Sylvie's Death. Do not worry; it will not kill you. It is produced by a carnivorous plant. I will show you the plant on our tour. The drug is in the plant's sap, and there are spines. If you come too close, the spines snap out, injecting the drug directly into your bloodstream. You don't get three steps."
She caressed my face again.
"The flower scent is also a drug. It increased your ardor. It made you want me. I did not use it before tonight.
